Sparks Research attains federal HUBZone certification

Sparks Research recently attained HUBZone-business certification through the U.S. Small Business Administration. The certification will enable Sparks Research to compete for certain government contracts set aside only for HUBZone-certified businesses.

The HUBZone program fuels small business growth in historically underutilized business zones with a goal of awarding at least three percent of federal contract dollars to HUBZone-certified companies each year. In addition to limiting competition for certain contracts to businesses in these business zones, the government also gives preferential consideration to those businesses in full and open competition.

In addition to being located within a designated HUBZone, at least 35 percent of a small business’s employees must reside within it in order to qualify for certification.

The HUBZone certification comes as Sparks Research is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Sparks Research boasts clients across a broad spectrum of industries, including higher education, healthcare, consumer packaged goods, automotive, manufacturing, financial services, utilities, telecommunications, general services industries, grocery, professional services, publishing, retail, real estate & construction.

“We are excited to announce our certification as a HUBZone business. For 50 years, Sparks Research has provided the kind of insight that enables our clients to accomplish their goals. We are proud to call the Upstate of South Carolina home and we are enthusiastic about the potential for the HUBZone certification to open new opportunities.”
